Welcome to the “How To” Section!
Whether you are attending a black-tie affair or you are following in the steps of notable BowTie wearers such as “Chalky White” from Boardwalk Empire, it is important to get some basics on what to do with your new found fashion accessories. Here we will share some tips on how to tie your bow tie, to how to store and care for them. Many are intimidated thinking that the actual act of tying a self-tie bow tie is more complicated than it really is. Please feel free to forward us any of your recommendations and we will ensure to share them with our community.
Storing your BowTies
So you’ve ordered your first BowTie(s), and hopefully from us, the first thing you should consider is where and how do you store them. Our ties are 100% silk and as such need to be properly cared for. The first thing to not do is hang your BowTies over anything that can snag the silk (wooden doors, heck doors of any kind). Secondly consider purchasing a small rack which can be utilized for your ties (standard and BowTies). We recommend this particular rack (which can be purchased through Amazon)
The advantage of the rack shown above is the individual plastic holders that allows each BowTie to have its own home so to speak, making it easy if you are the type of person that likes ordering things by color/style. There are also other options that can work for you depending on your personal preference. Here is a picture of the same rack loaded with BowTies.
